Islands In The Stream
another cover for you lover(s). this time a remake of dolly parton and kenny rogers' 1983 hit. seems like this cover was released all the way back in april 2008. i guess i missed that train, but i've lucky managed to find myself on the return leg. it's a nice collaboration between canadians; feist and constantines.
Download here.
so i've mentioned dolly and kenny, but what most people don't know is that "islands in the stream" was actually written by the bee gees.

here's florence on radio 1's live lounge performing a cover of drake and rihanna's take care, which was originally produced by jamie from the xx. the papz were apparently more interested in her "autumnal attire".

TED + TEED.
...
hello.
have you been introduced?
this is Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
Yes, completely ridiculous name for a funkier James Blake type.
I don't actually know who predates who, and no, that's not a joke on his name.
All the same, here's his new track -
and this is the one that made me fall in love with him, in case you didn't already know each other -

this isn't necessarily a recommendation.

i'm not usually one to go out of my way to put a band down but Wild Flag were following me around on the internet like a bad smell and I wanted to know why their perfume's attractive to a-n-y-o-n-e?
when i first heard them, i thought they were kind of fun, in the same way the late 90s and early 00s were fun, but not musically great.
i thought maybe i should be quiet because they're women and the sisterhood's quite important, so i went deeper:
and now i'm more confused than ever. Help?

a sunday song 2.
...
another sunday song, a band: Camus and the Cat; named after the two loves of one boy. It's a bedroom project, a tea-time project, with the kind of earnest voice that makes you smile.
a solo project, but with friends too:

part of the Odd Future Collective, he may not seem to fit into their gang, but he's nailed the whole "Urban-Emotional" genre thing and could probably sit quite nicely next to The Weeknd.
